New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle (R, C, I - Port Jefferson) will host a two-hour-long Environmental Roundtable to discuss environmental issues impacting the First Senate District on Thursday, February 9, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Selden campus of Suffolk County Community College in the Babylon Student Center – Montauk Point Room 212.
This year’s participants will again help Senator LaValle chart a legislative agenda that continues efforts to preserve the character and quality of life in our region.
More than 60 participants are expected, including representatives from town and village governments, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, environmental groups and concerned citizens. Past roundtables have included elected and appointed officials and commissioners, community members, environmentalists, sportsmen and others.
Senator LaValle will be joined by Assemblymen Fred Thiele, Dan Losquadro and Dean Murray.
