Senator Golden Announces $1.6 Million for Shore Road Park

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) at his town hall meeting last night, announced that he has secured $1.6 million in capital funding to help beautify and improve the conditions of Shore Road Park. Senator Golden was joined by representatives of the Parks Department and the Shore Road Parks Conservancy in making the announcement.

The funding will support the construction of gated vistas in areas along Shore Road and give the Parks Department the ability to better maintain the acres of parkland. The funding will support clearing and digging in certain areas, allow for tree pruning and create pockets of new landscaping that will help to showcase the beauty of Shore Road Park.

Senator Marty Golden stated, “This $1.6 million in funding will go a long way in improving conditions of Shore Road Park. Residents will soon walk along Shore Road with more beautified open space to view our New York Harbor and catch a glimpse of the Verrazano Bridge. There is no denying that Shore Road Park is one of the most admired Parks in our City, and my commitment is to make sure that it only gets better.”

“At the same time that the Parks Department will begin to work in Shore Road Park, I would encourage residents to consider joining the Shore Road Parks Conservancy. Let’s support this organization that wants nothing more than to take back our parks and make them the best that they can be,” continued Senator Golden.
