Senator Golden Funds a New Van for Bay Ridge Senior Center to Replace Vehicle Totaled in March Collision

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today visited the Bay Ridge Center for Older Adults to announce that has secured a $65,000 grant to replace the van that was totaled in the car accident on this past Spring.
Senator Golden was joined by the staff, administration and members of the Bay Ridge Center for the announcement of the gift of new wheels.
Senator Marty Golden stated, “I have proudly secured a grant for $65,000 to purchase a new van and replace the one damaged in the accident. The moment I heard of the accident my first thought was to make sure that everyone was okay. But once I knew that there was no major injuries, my mind immediately turned to thinking of how I could help replace this van.”
“Ladies and gentleman, this van is for you. This van is so you can travel our community, go on trips, and more. I look forward to being aboard the van for one its first rides,” continued Senator Golden.
The terrible car accident happened on Colonial Road at 78th Street and injured 11 seniors and totaled one of the senior center vans on Tuesday, March 26th of this year. None of the injuries were life threatening.
