Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) presented a New York State Senate Resolution, J. 3367, honoring Mets legend Gary Carter, during festivities on the field at MCU Park in Coney Island, prior to the June 29th Brooklyn Cyclones game against the Aberdeen IronBirds.
Senator Marty Golden stated, "The game of baseball lost one of the best this year and it was important that in Brooklyn, we remember his career as a baseball player and as a humanitarian. Gary "The Kid" Carter was a member of the 1986 World Champion New York Mets and for many years, inspired the fans at Shea Stadium to "Believe". I am grateful to have had the opportunity to recognize his life and career."
Senator Golden led passage of the New York State Senate Resolution following the death of Gary Carter earlier this year. Friday night was “Gary Carter Night” at MCU Park in honor of the former MLB legend, and served as a fund raiser for the Gary Carter Foundation.
