Senator Golden to Host Annual Memorial Day Breakfast and Awards Event

Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn), a member of the State Senate Committee on Homeland Security, Military and Veteran Affairs, is announcing plans to honor local veterans at a Memorial Day breakfast and awards ceremony, to be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at the Bay Ridge Manor, located at 476-76th Street in Brooklyn.

Senator Golden will pay tribute to the sacrifices made by the men and women of our community in the name of the United States of America. The extraordinary service of Fort Hamilton Army Base Garrison Commander Colonel Michael J. Gould and Garrison Command Sergeant Major Sylvia P. Laughlin will be recognized at the event.

Senator Golden stated, “We will gather in a room of heroes who have served the Nation and have defended our freedoms throughout the world. As we celebrate Memorial Day 2012,

we must remember the sacrifices of those who proudly wore the uniform of the United States of America. It is only because of their service, are we able to live in freedom.”
