Senator Golden: Parole Board Needs to Keep Cop-Killer Behind Bars

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) is today calling upon the New York State Parole Board to deny parole for those convicted in the 1988 murder of New York City Police Officer Edward Byrne when the felons appear before the Board this Fall.

Senator Golden stated, “No one who kills a police officer should ever be able to walk freely amongst us in society again, and those who killed Officer Byrne should never be granted parole. These four thugs committed an extreme act of hatred and evil on our City streets, and at the October parole hearing, we must make sure that they are continued to be held accountable for these actions and denied parole.”

Golden continued, “Each and every day, the men and women of the New York City Police Department work to keep us safe. We owe it to each of them to make sure that these individuals are kept behind bars and can’t pose a threat to our uniformed officers.”

Senator Golden, a former New York City Police Officer, will be sending a letter to the Parole Board Commissioners.
