In recognition of her extraordinary commitment to promoting women’s health
and community revitalization, Patti Cataldi of Webster is among the outstanding women across New York State who were honored at the 2012 "Women of Distinction" ceremony held today at the State Capitol. Patti, who serves as Chair of the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester Board and is a member of the Webster Town Board, was nominated for this honor by State Senator Mike Nozzolio.
"It is an honor to present this important recognition to Patti Cataldi. Her dedication, commitment and extraordinary public service has made a tremendous positive impact on women and families throughout our region and made our community as a whole a better place to live," said Senator Nozzolio.
As a passionate advocate for Main Street revitalization and local economic
development, Patti has served as a Director for the Webster Village Business Improvement District. She is a member of the Webster Chamber of Commerce and helped to create Webster's new Community Center. In 2009, Patti was elected to the Town Board of Webster, where she serves as a councilwoman.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, Patti became involved with the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester and dedicated herself to helping other women whose lives have been impacted by this condition. Her fundraising efforts directing the Coalition’s ARTrageous Affair Gala raised over $325,000 for women living with breast cancer. As Chair of the Coalition’s Board of Directors, she travels across New York and to Washington D.C. to meet with State and Federal representatives to advocate for legislative issues affecting breast cancer survivors.
Launched in 1998, the Women of Distinction program was created to celebrate the rich heritage of notable women from New York's past as well as to honor outstanding women today who have followed their example.
Patti was joined at the State Capitol by her husband Richard.
