In recognition of his continuing efforts to make New York State job competitive, enhance the growth of small businesses and support job creation, State Senator Mike Nozzolio has been honored by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) with its “Guardian of Small Business” award. The “Guardian of Small Business” award is the highest recognition provided by the small business and job growth advocacy group, and acknowledges Senator Nozzolio’s strong support of New York’s independent business owners and job creators.
“Independent businesses are the catalyst for new job growth in our State. They are integral to rebuilding our economy and creating a better future for our State and Nation,” said Senator Nozzolio. “It is an honor to receive this award and I commend the NFIB and New York’s Director, Mike Durant, for their unwavering commitment to the success and growth of our State’s job-producing independent businesses.”
“Senator Nozzolio has long been a friend of New York’s small business owners, job creators and entrepreneurs, fighting for tax relief and regulatory reform. Senator Nozzolio recently joined NFIB members in opposing a proposed 45% thruway toll increase that would harm small businesses, raise grocery prices for consumers and weaken New York’s economic recovery. We are grateful for Senator Nozzolio’s support and strong leadership and are proud to recognize him with the Guardian of Small Business Award, NFIB’s highest honor,” said New York State Director Mike Durant.
“I look forward to continuing our work with the members of the National Federation of Independent Businesses to build more job opportunities and a better future for our citizens, so families will not have to move to other states to find employment,” said Senator Nozzolio.
The National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) is the nation’s leading small business advocacy association. Founded in 1943, NFIB gives small and independent business owners a voice in shaping the public policy issues that affect their members. NFIB’s mission is to promote and protect the right of business owners to own, operate and grow their businesses.
