Following Governor Cuomo’s 2012 State of the State Address, State Senator Mike Nozzolio met with local firefighters and emergency response personnel who were invited to represent their communities at the event. The Governor’s address called for a new statewide network of local and regional emergency responders to improve statewide communications and help ensure that resources can be deployed effectively in emergency situations.
“Our brave volunteer firefighters and emergency medical personnel represent the best our local communities have to offer and serve as the first line of response when disaster strikes,” said Senator Nozzolio. “I was very pleased to see Governor Cuomo initiate discussion on how emergency management services throughout our State could be better coordinated and I look forward to working with him to ensure a positive impact on the lifesaving services these individuals provide in the Finger Lakes Region.”
