Senator Owen H. Johnson partnered with Suffolk County NY State Senators Lee Zeldin, Kenneth P. LaValle and John J. Flanagan in sponsoring a Career Fair on July 18, 2012. The event took place at the Suffolk County Community College Brentwood Campus.
In addition to over 60 employers from varying sectors of the Long Island economy, the July 18th Career Fair featured a one-hour seminar for job seekers on how to use LinkedIn for their job search. Over 11,000 job seekers attended.
“As your State Senator, I have been working hard to turn New York around and to help create private sector jobs right here on Long Island,” Senator Johnson said. “Over the past two years we have made significant progress in fostering an environment of economic growth that will help grow businesses and provide new job opportunities for all Long Islanders. Many of my constituents are struggling to find work and this fantastic networking event was able to bring a large pool of qualified applicants in direct contact with businesses looking to hire new employees,” Senator Johnson said. “It was a great way for those with open positions to meet with a large number of qualified applicants in one day.”
