4th National Drug Take-Back Day Taking Place Saturday

8 Locations in Central and Northern New York Accepting Unused, Expired, Unwanted Prescription Drugs

On Saturday, people across New York State and the nation will clean out their medicine cabinets for the 4th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
 
The event provides an opportunity for people to safely and anonymously dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs at local drop-off sites.  

“National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day provides a safe, easy alternative to just hanging on to, throwing out or flushing prescription drugs, which can pose a danger to children or adolescents who might have access to them as well as the environment,” said Senator Ritchie. 

People across the country have disposed of nearly one million pounds of prescription drugs in three Take-Back Days, that have taken place during the past 13 months.

More than 250 locations across the state will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  A list of the sites in  Central and Northern New York can be found below:
