“I was so pleased to see such a large number of job seekers take advantage of this great opportunity to meet with local employers who are looking to hire right now,” said Senator Ritchie.

“The key to putting our state and local economies back on track is getting people back to work.  This event did just that—paired hardworking people with organizations who can use their skills to help expand, prosper and hopefully create even more jobs.”

Not only were those looking for work able to talk with employers, there were also opportunities for job-seekers to talk with professionals about improving their job hunting skills—everything from learning new interview techniques to obtaining information for starting your own business.

Nearly 500 job seekers attended a similar event hosted by Senator Ritchie last week in Ogdensburg.

Senator Ritchie has been working to connect job-seekers with employers, through her annual Job fairs and a special Jobs Bank link on her website that includes information about more than 70,000 job openings across the state.

In addition, she’s been working to bring new jobs to the region by supporting tax and spending cuts, as well as smart investments in economic development programs.
