Senator Ritchie Encourages People to Visit Moving “Women of Distinction” Displays

People in Central New York will have an opportunity to learn about New York’s female leaders through a moving “Women of Distinction” display, featured at local libraries.

The New York State Senate’s Women of Distinction program honors women—both past and present—who have made a difference.  Senator Ritchie kicked off the tour Thursday, with an event at the Fulton Public Library, which is hosting the exhibit through July 10th.

“When you look back through history, it’s astounding to see the number of women who have made such a significant impact on our state—and our country,” said Senator Patty Ritchie.

“This display will enable people to learn about those women, as well as current “Women of Distinction” who are making a difference in their communities today.”

The moving display will feature this year’s Woman of Distinction, Jan Rebeor of Oswego County, as well as other famous New York women; such as Rhoda Fox Graves, Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, Lucille Ball and more.

The display will be featured at the following libraries:

Fulton Library, June 26th to July 10th

Hannibal Library, July 11th to July 19th

Williamstown Library, July 20th to July 30th

Mexico Library, August 9th to August 17th
