Ritchie Seeks Nominees for 2012 ‘Woman of Distinction’

State Senator Patty Ritchie is looking for one good woman.

She's asking people in Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties to suggest outstanding volunteers, business people or women who have made a difference in their communities, to be nominees for the State Senate’s 2012 “Woman of Distinction.”

The program honors women’s history in New York State by recognizing outstanding leaders and everyday citizens from the present who make a difference.

“You and I know women who selflessly serve our families and communities in hundreds of ways, as leaders, volunteers and movers behind the scenes in Central and Northern New York,’ Senator Ritchie said. “You can help insure that their achievements are honored by recognizing these leaders as ‘Women of Distinction.’ ”

Women who live in the 48th Senate District, including Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties, are eligible to be nominated. An individual from each State Senate district will be invited to travel to Albany to be recognized at a special reception. Their photo and biography will become part of a display that travels across the state to bring attention to the achievements of distinctive New Yorkers.

A nomination forms is available by clicking below, or calling 782-3418. Nominations are due by April 15th.

Nominations may be made by friends, coworkers, family members and neighbors.
