New York Farm Bureau Recognizes Ritchie for Two Consecutive Years

For the second year in a row, the New York Farm Bureau has added State Senator Patty Ritchie to its “Circle of Friends,” a recognition given to legislators who are strong supporters of the agricultural industry in New York State.

“Being added once again to the New York Farm Bureau’s ‘Circle of Friends’ is such a great honor for me,” said Senator Ritchie.

“I grew up on a farm and know how hard you have to work to be successful in this industry.  Agriculture is our state’s cornerstone. That’s why I have made it my priority to work closely with the Farm Bureau to make those in Albany aware of the challenges faced by our farmers—and what can be done to help them grow and be successful.”

Senator Ritchie, who is also the Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, has led the charge to repeal costly mandates affecting farmers, restored budget cuts to programs utilized by farmers, worked to preserve farm-saving programs, cut red tape and helped grow family farming in New York State.

The Farm Bureau presents the awards each year based on legislators’ records showing their support of New York Family Farms.  Those who receive the recognition have demonstrated an understanding of the importance of agriculture in their legislative district, and how the industry impacts the economy and the future of New York State.
