Ritchie Visits Exhibits, Meets with Farmers, Agriculture Officials

State Senator Patty Ritchie visited the Great New York State Fair Monday, taking part in ‘Dairy Day.’

“The New York State Fair is the event of the summer,” said Senator Ritchie, who is chair of the Senate’s Agricultural Committee.  “From agriculture to food, there isn’t any better way to see what makes our state so special in one place.”

“Agriculture is the cornerstone of our state’s economy—and today, and every day at the fair, people who may not realize the importance of agriculture are able to get a firsthand look at farming and the impact it has on New York State.”

As part of Dairy Day, Senator Ritchie attended a dairy cattle competition, viewed the butter sculpture, met with agriculture officials, maple producers, and many others involved in our state’s agricultural industry.

The Great New York State Fair runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 3rd.
