Senator McDonald to Rally 100s of Walkers at Saratoga Springs Event
Saratoga Springs, NY – New York State Senator Roy McDonald will be the kick-off speaker for Walk MS Saratoga on Sunday, May 6, motivating more than 700 people to walk to find a cure for MS. The National MS Society Upstate New York Chapter hopes to raise more than $115,000 from Walk MS Saratoga.
"Saratoga Walk MS is a wonderful opportunity for members of our local community to participate in an event that will raise funding and awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. Taking part in this walk is a great way to help individuals, and their families, who persevere with MS on a daily basis through raising money to support programs, services and research. Working together we can and will make a difference," said Senator Roy McDonald.
Funds raised will support direct services for the more than 12,400 people with MS and their families in Upstate New York and research to find a cure for this chronic disease of the central nervous system. In Saratoga County alone, there are more than 460 people living with MS.
Senator McDonald is one of seven lawmakers who make up the National MS Society’s New York State MS Legislative Alliance, dedicated to raising awareness of the disease.
