New York State Senator Reverend Diaz Reacts to Bronx Shooting
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) has released the following statement in response to news reports of a 10-year old girl who was grazed by a bullet yesterday in the Bronx on her way home from school:
“My prayers and thoughts go out to the 10-year old girl who was shot Wednesday afternoon on her way home from school. I thank the Lord that she is expected to be fine, and hope that she will be able to put this trauma behind her fairly quickly, resume her life as a child, not fear her walk to and from school, and not fear growing up in her neighborhood.
I trust that the New York City Police Department will make it one of their top priorities to arrest those responsible for this crime and work closely with our community to keep our streets safe.”
For further information, please contact Senator Reverend Diaz at (718) 496-4793.
