Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz Marks the 11th Anniversary of American Airlines Flight 587
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) released the following statement:
"As a New York State Senator and as the President of the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization, I join with all New Yorkers to remember and honor the lives we lost 11 years ago when American Airlines Flight 587, bound for Santo Domingo, crashed in Belle Harbor killing all 260 people on board and 5 people on the ground.
We know that November 12th is an especially painful day for New York's Dominican community and also for the people in the Rockaways. We will not forget the victims of this tragedy.
We continue to offer our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the grief stricken relatives and friends who perished that day, and we will continue to honor the 265 lives that perished that day."
