The Annual Morrison Avenue Family Festival
You should know that I am still in the hospital, incommunicado and out of touch, as I recuperate from knee replacement surgery – but I am breaking my silence to let everyone know about this year’s Morrison Avenue Family Festival that will be held on Saturday, August 18th.
You should also know that the Morrison Avenue Family Festival is a day when families from all over the Bronx and New York City can come to enjoy a day of free music, free entertainment, free popcorn and cotton candy, free inflatable moon bounces and many games for the children.
Every year, between 5 and 10 thousand people come together to the Bronx Morrison Avenue Family Festival – where Morrison Avenue will be closed to traffic from Westchester Avenue to Watson Avenue between the hours of 12 noon and 6 pm – and as I have said before, this is a free event for families and their children.
There will be two stages for performances at each end of Morrison Avenue. One stage will have Spanish music and the other stage will have Rap music.
I hope that my friends in the media who cover ways for children and families to enjoy special events can help me to promote the Morrison Avenue Family Festival so that children and families throughout the City don’t miss this unique annual event and have fun.
One thing you should know is that during this election year, elected officials and aspiring candidates from throughout the City will be stopping by the Morrison Avenue Family Festival to greet people. This is always to be expected, and they are always a welcome part of the day.
I am State Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz and this is what you should know.
