ACS Issues RFP for Intensive Family Preventive Services

The New York City Administration for Children's Services has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Intensive Family Preventive Services. The agency anticipates awarding contracts with a total annual value of $9.063 million for services to 663 families at any given point in time.

The target population for this RFP is families with teens, ages 12-18, who are the subject of a Child Safety Conference ("CSC”) with DCP resulting from evidence of neglect, physical abuse, and/or sexual abuse of the child, or are at risk of out-of-home placement and/or Family Court proceedings due to behavior deemed "uncontrollable” by their parents, school and/or law enforcement.

The RFP seeks services that are Intensive Family Preventive Services that are designed for teens and their families and utilize evidence-based models ("EBMs”) or adaptations of EBMs ("AEBMs”). ACS is seeking proposals for a total of 285 Home Based Family Therapy Slots and 378 Multi-Track Family Therapy for Child Welfare slots.

A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held on Wednesday November 14th at 10:00 A.M. at The Children's Center, 492 First Avenue in New York City. Questions regarding the RFP will be accepted until November 26, 2012. Proposals are due on Friday, December 7th. The anticipated contract start date is July 1, 2013.
