Senator Andrew Lanza Secures Millions in Funding for Economic Development Projects on Staten Island

Staten Island will receive millions of dollars in economic development funding for a number of projects as part of round three of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative, Senator Lanza announced today. The city received a total of $57.4 million through the project.
On Staten Island, $5 million was awarded for two St. George projects. $3.5 million will be used to support infrastructure improvements near the St. George Ferry Terminal in conjunction with the building of the Empire Outlets and New York Wheel. The state previously approved an $11.5 million grant to help fund infrastructure improvements at the ferry terminal. Another $1.5 million will be used for construction improvements at Lighthouse Point including waterfront retail shops, restaurants, housing and a hotel.
