Senate Passes Senator Fuschillo’s Resolution Honoring Merrick Eagle Scout

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

April 19, 2013

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently announced that the New York State Senate passed a legislative resolution he sponsored honoring Merrick resident James Harrington for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

James, a member of Merrick Boy Scout Troop 351, earned the award after years of hard work rising through scouting’s ranks, dedication to scouting’s ideals, and service to others.

James also completed a community service project in which he constructed a four foot high split rail fence to house the Nigerian dwarf goats at the Town of Hempstead’s Norman J. Levy Park and Preserve. James also built an additional grazing area for the goats and installed a large equipment storage box on the Rangers’ porch.

“James is a wonderful young man whose strong work ethic, desire to serve his community, and leadership qualities have helped him earn scouting’s most prestigious honor. I am certain that this is just the first of many more great accomplishments that lay ahead for James. I congratulate him and his family on this notable achievement and wish him continued success in the future,” said Senator Fuschillo.

With the passage of this resolution, James’s achievements will forever be part of the official record of the New York State Senate.
