Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today announced that he has secured $150,000 in new state funding for a road improvement project in the Village of Amityville.
The funding will allow the Village to repave the southern half of South Bayview Avenue, from just south of King Place all the way to the southern end of South Bayview Avenue. According to the Village of Amityville, the road is a major artery to the Village Beach and all its recreational activities. The Village states that repaving the road is crucial to providing services to residents and promoting tourism in the Village.
“South Bayview Avenue is a critical part of the Village’s infrastructure. Providing this funding will enable the Village to repair this important roadway and improve the quality of life for its residents,” said Senator Fuschillo.
"Once again, Senator Fuschillo has come through for our Village with $150,000 to repave the southern half of South Bayview Avenue. In these extremely challenging financial times this funding is critical to our effort of upgrading this heavily traveled road which offers access to our beach and summer recreational activities. Thank you Senator Fuschillo!" said Village of Amityville Mayor Peter Imbert.
