Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and Senator Phil Boyle (R-Bay Shore) today announced $100,000 in new state funding for infrastructure improvements in the Village of Lindenhurst.
The state funding will allow the Village of Lindenhurst to undertake two road improvement projects. The first improvement project is on North Wellwood Avenue between Kane Street and Newark Street. According to the Village, this project is the final phase of its ongoing efforts to repave and improve the entire length of North Wellwood Avenue from Newark Street to Hoffman Avenue. The second improvement project is on North Indiana Avenue between East John Street and Byrd Street.
According to the Village, both projects will include road repaving, as well as storm drainage improvements where needed.
“These public improvement projects will help the Village of Lindenhurst continue to repair its roadways and enhance the quality of life for residents. I am pleased to have secured this state funding to make this investment in the Village’s infrastructure,” said Senator Fuschillo.
"The Village of Lindenhurst appreciates the efforts of Senator Fuschillo and Senator Boyle in helping us to maintain our roadway system. This funding will be directly utilized to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety on these two streets," said Lindenhurst Mayor Thomas Brennan.
