Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently announced that he secured $30,000 in state funding for the Massapequa School District to improve its security systems.

According to the district, the funds will be used to purchase additional surveillance cameras, enhance training in threat assessment procedures for staff, and implement an Incident Command System, which will allow for the integration of communication and personnel among various jurisdictions. The new measures will allow the district to greatly enhance the safety of students and school personnel.

“Students, teachers, and staff throughout the Massapequa School District will all benefit from this new funding. Enhancing existing security systems will make the district’s schools even more safe and secure,” said Senator Fuschillo.

“On behalf of the Massapequa Public Schools, we sincerely, thank Senator Fuschillo for this state funding. The additions to our current security systems will greatly ensure the safety of our students and staff. Senator Fuschillo’s efforts and support are greatly appreciated,” said Lucille Iconis, Superintendent of the Massapequa School District.
