Senator Fuschillo Congratulates Freeport’s Small Businessperson of the Year

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently congratulated Freeport Chamber of Commerce member, and Seaford resident, Ivan Sayles on being named 2013 Small Businessperson of the Year.

     Mr. Sayles is the co-owner of Rachel’s Waterside Grill, a restaurant located on the Nautical Mile in Freeport. For over 16 years, Rachel’s has been serving a wide variety of dishes which combine fresh ingredients and creative recipes to the community. Rachel’s Waterside Grill has been chosen “Best Seafood Restaurant” three years in a row by the Long Island Press’ “Best of Long Island.”

     In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Sayles serves as the Freeport Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Secretary and plays an active role in the community, striving to promote and uphold the image of the Nautical Mile.

     “Ivan Sayles is someone who gives back to the community. Whether it is through his business, as a leader in the Chamber of Commerce, or in his free time, Ivan continually serves the residents and business of Freeport. It is my pleasure to congratulate him on earning this honor,” said Senator Fuschillo.
