Senator Fuschillo & County Executive Mangano to Sponsor Property Tax Exemptions Workshops in Bellmore & Merrick

Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano will be sponsoring two Property Tax Exemption Workshops in Bellmore and Merrick.
The workshops will be held on:
• Friday, October 11th from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Bellmore Library (2288 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore).
• Friday, October 25th from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Merrick Library (2279 Merrick Avenue, Merrick)
At both programs, tax exemption specialists from the Nassau County Department of Assessment will be equipped with computers linked to the county’s database, and property tax exemption applications for first-time applicants of Basic STAR, as well as Enhanced STAR, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, veterans, volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians will be processed. Tax exemption specialists will also provide assistance and answer any questions residents have about these exemptions.
Homeowners who will be filing for an exemption should bring copies of any documentation that is required for the property tax exemption, including proof of age, proof of residency and proof of income.
