Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently joined with Farmingdale State College Officials in cutting the ribbon on the College’s new Campus Center.
The 50,000 square foot center contains a new student bookstore, dining facilities, a student lounge, and rooms for lectures and special events. According to Farmingdale State College officials, the new Campus Center is the first new student services building on campus in 30 years.
The new campus center is part of the College’s $185 million renovation and construction plan, which also includes a new school of business building, a new children’s center, and renovations of academic buildings and research laboratories. Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman Robert Sweeney (D-Lindenhurst), who also attended the grand opening ceremony, secured state funding for the improvements.
“Farmingdale State College has taken yet another step forward in its continued development. The new, modern campus center will be a critical component to Farmingdale State's infrastructure that will greatly benefit students and staff for years to come. I am proud to have worked with Farmingdale State to complete this project and continue to support its growth into one of Long Island's premier higher education institutions," said Senator Fuschillo.
