Senator Fuschillo Helps Open New Child Care Center at Farmingdale State College

     Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today helped open a new Child Care Center at Farmingdale State College. Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman Robert Sweeney (D-Lindenhurst) helped secure $7.5 million in state funding for the new facility. 

     “This is another great addition to Farmingdale State College’s campus. This new, state of the art center will provide quality child care to students, staff, and community members with young children. I am pleased to have helped Farmingdale State College undertake this latest improvement project,” said Senator Fuschillo. 

     The Child Care Center is open to the community and the college campus and accepts children ages eight weeks to pre-K. The center also runs a summer camp for children ages 5 through 12. 

     The new center is over 11,000 square feet with rooms for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. The center is designed so that every room provides “teachable moments.” As an example, the lobby is interactive with touchable textures on the walls. The center also has an outdoor playground which features four separate play areas that are developmentally appropriate.
