Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) was recently honored by students and staff at Mepham High School for securing state funding to make safety improvements at the school.
Senator Fuschillo secured state funding to replace the visitors bleachers at the school’s football field. The old wooden bleachers were worn and rotted in many sections, posing a safety hazard to parents and children. Using the funding secured by Senator Fuschillo, the school was able to install new, safer aluminum bleachers.
In recognition of his efforts, the school presented Senator Fuschillo with a football signed by the entire Mepham High School football team. The ball was presented during Mepham’s “Friday Night Lights” game against Kennedy High School, where both teams went pink to raise awareness about breast cancer and funds for breast cancer research.
