Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is informing residents who believe they are entitled to a state and/or federal tax refund that they can track the status of their refund online by visiting his website, Fuschillo.nysenate.gov.

Both the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) have online tracking systems which allow residents whose income tax returns indicated they will be receiving a refund to find out when they can expect to receive it.

Individuals can utilize the IRS’ Refund Tracking Service within 24 hours of filing their tax returns electronically or four weeks after filing a paper return. State income tax refunds can be tracked within 3-5 days of filing electronically or four weeks after filing a paper return.

Residents can take advantage of the free tax refund tracking services by clicking here. Residents should have a copy of their income tax returns on hand when using the tracking service, as they will need to provide their social security number, the exact amount of their anticipated refund, and their tax filing status.
