Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is informing residents that award letters are now being sent to eligible Superstorm Sandy victims who applied for assistance through the NY Rising Program.
The NY Rising Program provides assistance to homeowners who suffered direct physical damage during Superstorm Sandy. Assistance is offered to help victims with unmet recovery needs, including home repair, home rehabilitation, storm mitigation, and home elevation.
According to the NY Rising program, award letters are being mailed to the approximately 4,000 residents who completed the NY Rising application process and met with their case managers.
NY Rising advises residents who receive a letter indicating they are eligible for an award to complete the following additional steps in order to finalize their award as quickly as possible: http://stormrecovery.ny.gov/homeowner-awards
