Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently announced that he secured $5,000 in state funding for new computer technology at the Bellmore Memorial Library.
The funding will help the Library purchase computer hardware and software for its new teen space, including a new computer and i-Pads for teens to use in the Library. Additionally, the library will purchase i-Pads which allow reference staff to instruct patrons how to use Library resources on their own i-pads, along with reference and reader advisory services.
“The Bellmore Memorial Library is a valuable community resource which provides a host of different services to residents. This new technology will allow the Library to further expand these services and better serve the Bellmore community,” said Senator Fuschillo.
“On behalf of the Bellmore Memorial Library, I would like to express our appreciation for Senator Fuschillo’s assistance. Our goal is to provide the best service we can to our patrons, and this funding will assist us in that goal,” said Bellmore Memorial Library Director Maureen Garvey.
