Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he has secured $5,000 in state funding for technology improvements at the Massapequa Public Library.
The Library is using the state funds to purchase up-to-date laptop computers. The Library will use the laptops to teach residents computer skills which will aid them in job searching and training, as well as with other everyday tasks.
“Learning basic computer skills is becoming even more essential in today’s digital society. This new technology will help the Massapequa Library provide important training to residents of the community,” said Senator Fuschillo.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Massapequa Public Library, I would like to thank Senator Fuschillo for providing this funding. His support for the Massapequa Public Library demonstrates that he understands that the Library serves as a cornerstone of the community,” said Massapequa Public Library Director Janis Schoen.
