Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) will be sponsoring a free car seat safety check on Saturday, May 4th in Massapequa Park.
The free car seat safety check will be held from 9 am to 12 pm at John Burns Park (front west parking lot), located at 4990 Merrick Road in Massapequa Park.
Officials from the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board will be performing free safety seat inspections to make sure that drivers have their children’s car seats properly installed and secured. Car seats can reduce the threat of injury or death by as much as 65 percent, but only if they are installed properly, according to the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board. The Nassau County Traffic Safety Board also estimates that as many as 90 percent of car seats are improperly installed.
Appointments for free car seat safety checks will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. To schedule an appointment, please call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
