Senator Fuschillo to Sponsor Free Legal Services Program to Help Residents Affected by Hurricane Sandy

Mobile Legal Help Center Will Be At Copiague Library to Offer Free Legal Assistance to Residents in Need

 

            Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that he will be sponsoring a free legal services program in Copiague to continue to help residents recover from the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.

            Senator Fuschillo has arranged to bring the New York Legal Assistance Group’s Mobile Legal Help Center to the Copiague Library, located at 50 Deauville Boulevard in Copiague, this Friday, February 1st, from 10 am to 4 pm. The Mobile Legal Help Center, which is a partnership between the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the New York State Office of Court Administration, brings free, civil legal services directly into communities.  

            NYLAG attorneys and staff will be available to provide free legal assistance to local residents affected by Hurricane Sandy on matters including:           

·         FEMA claims

·         Insurance claims

·         Storm related consumer matters

·         Other storm related legal issues

Individuals should bring with them any documentation related to their situation that may be useful to the NYLAG attorneys in providing assistance. 

Appointments are required and will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Residents can schedule an appointment by calling Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
