Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick), in conjunction with the Integrated Medical Foundation, recently sponsored a free prostate cancer PSA test program at the Wantagh Library.
Men who participated in the program were able to receive a free PSA blood test, regardless of whether or not they had insurance.
Prostate Cancer is the one of the most common forms of cancer among men. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime.
“Successful treatment of prostate cancer often depends on early detection. That is why it is so important for men to get screened regularly. I thank the Integrated Medical Foundation for once again partnering with me to offer men this important and potentially lifesaving service,” said Senator Fuschillo.
Men who were unable to take advantage of the program but would like more information about getting a free PSA test can call the Integrated Medical Foundation at 631-247-0100.
