Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office will be sponsoring a free child ID card program in Copiague. The program will take place on Tuesday, October 22nd from 4-7 pm at the Copiague Library (50 Deauville Boulevard, Copiague).
The New York State Safe Child Card gives parents a convenient way to keep their children’s important information on a single, wallet sized ID card. The card includes the child’s:
• Name
• Date of birth
• Gender
• Height
• Weight
• Hair Color
• Eye Color
• Fingerprint image of both index fingers
Safe Child Cards will be printed and processed on site and parents will be able to take the cards home with them right from the event. Parents will also have the voluntary option to share the information on the card with the New York State Division of Criminal Justice’s Amber Alert and Missing Child Alert program.
