Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently sponsored his annual Job Resource Expo which helped local residents learn about job training programs, career counseling, and other employment resources.
“In an extremely competitive job market, residents need to give themselves every possible chance to succeed. The Job Resource Expo enabled individuals to learn about job training and educational programs, have their resumes reviewed, and receive information about other services which can help them obtain a job. I am pleased that so many residents were able to take advantage of these services,” said Senator Fuschillo.
Representatives from over 20 different government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and colleges provided a host of different services to those in attendance, including resume review and career counseling. Residents were also able to about job training programs; job searching tips & interviewing skills; upcoming civil service exams; continuing education; social services; and starting a small business.
