Legislator Tom Muratore (4th Legislative District) and State Senator John Flanagan (2nd Senate District) are pleased to announce several upcoming fundraisers to support Centereach High School’s Junior Varsity and Varsity Cheerleaders, also referred to as the “Spirit Club.”
To help fund the team’s upcoming trip to cheerleading camp in Pennsylvania, the group has organized two car washes this summer. Both will be held at Auto Zone Shopping Center, located at 1930 Middle Country Road, Centereach. The first date is Saturday, July 20th, and the second is Saturday, August 10th. Both events are scheduled for 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
In addition to the car washes, the Spirit Club has scheduled a Flapjack Fundraiser breakfast. This will be held on Sunday, August 4th, from 8am-10am at Applebee’s, located at 3145 Middle Country Road, Lake Grove (just east of the Smithaven Mall).
“It is important that we support our community’s youth organizations. The skills and dedication learned today help them to become responsible young adults in the future,” stated Legislator Muratore. “We all need our cars washed, and who doesn’t like a good pancake breakfast? You can enjoy both and support the Spirit Club in the process. Please mark these dates on your calendar, and help raise money for a worthwhile cause.”
“I am proud to join with Legislator Muratore to help the Spirit Club in their efforts and hope that everyone will take some time to help these kids reach their goal. It will help them fulfill their dreams and, more importantly, it will provide them with a great example of what it means to be part of a community,” stated Senator Flanagan.
