(Bronx, NY)- Senator Serrano joined The Orchestra of the Bronx at Bronx Community College for a presentation of Handel's Messiah. Serrano, who is a long-time advocate for the arts, served as one of the orators for this annual holiday event. The event is widely-attended and has become a holiday tradition for the Bronx community. The Orchestra of the Bronx (The Bronx Opera Chorus and soloists), conducted by Michael Spearman, presented the words in Handel's timeless musical settings.
"Few things in life are as uplifting as listening to great operatic works," said Serrano. " The Orchestra of the Bronx, once again, treated the community to a powerful performance of Handel's Messiah. It is always an honor to read the Hallelujah chorus and I look forward to continuing this joyous holiday tradition," concluded Serrano.
Senator Serrano is a long-time supporter of the arts and serves as the Ranking Member on the Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks & Recreation.
