Insurance Assistance in Queens to Help Sandy Victims; 7-Day Storm Hotline Is Staffed
Queens, NY, March 26, 2013 – NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., is pleased to bring back to Howard Beach the NYC Department of Financial Services Van to offer insurance assistance in Queens. The van was most recently in the area last week. Department representatives will be available to answer consumer questions; a storm hotline will also be staffed seven days a week to help Storm Sandy victims.
Benjamin M. Lawsky, Superintendent of Financial Services, announced that representatives of the Department of Financial Services will be available to help still-struggling homeowners, renters, and business owners with insurance-related issues stemming from damage caused by Storm Sandy.
The Department's representatives will be available to meet with residents inside the agency's Mobile Command Center, which will be stationed at the following location on the upcoming date:
Saturday, March 30 – 10 AM to 5 PM

in front of Staples
Department representatives will help residents contact their insurers if they have been unable to do so and answer questions about homeowners', renters', and business owners' insurance coverage.
Residents unable to go to the Mobile Command Center are encouraged to call the Department's storm hotline, (800) 339-1759, which is staffed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
