Senator Kevin Parker on the Observance of July 4th
Kevin S. Parker
July 3, 2013
(Brooklyn, NY) “Each year on the Fourth of July, we come together as New Yorkers and as Americans, to celebrate America's independence and the birth of our nation's freedom.
While we all spend time with families, friends and loved ones today, we must remember and salute the men and women of our armed forces, and many civilians as well, who are celebrating the anniversary of American Independence in other countries throughout the world.
We would like them here with us now, but we understand they are overseas for us and for our way of life.
I thank them and the many military families here in New York for their commitment and sacrifice on our behalf.
My best wishes to all New Yorkers, and particularly to my fellow Brooklynites.
God bless you and have a happy and safe holiday."
