Senator Lee M. Zeldin Releases Tri-Hamlet Renaissance Project First Year Progress Report

Mastic Beach, NY- State Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) today released the First Year Progress Report of the Tri-Hamlet Renaissance Project.

The Project was announced on April, 29, 2012, with a 33 page collaborative report detailing proposed projects that community leaders, including local elected officials from every layer of government, have agreed to work together towards achieving.

The Tri-Hamlet Renaissance Project has been a joint effort between community residents and elected officials to enhance the quality of life in the Tri-Hamlet area for generations to come. Following initial meetings in the summer of 2011, between elected officials and community leaders, six workgroups were formed covering areas of: Infrastructure, Economic Development, Real Estate, Quality of Life, Public Safety and Marketing.

Since then, every level of Government has continued to collaborate and tackle the hard work of turning the report into a reality. Thirteen months later, there has been substantial progress on every section of the report.

“We have witnessed important victories in enacting our goals. As a Tri-Hamlet resident, I am grateful for the dedication of our fellow Tri-Hamlet Community elected officials and all of the other leaders involved during this successful first year of the Tri-Hamlet Renaissance Project. I see a future that is bright for the Tri-Hamlet, and I have the utmost confidence that our shared efforts will ensure our continued success and growth as a community,” said Senator Zeldin.

“I want to thank everyone who has been involved with turning this report into reality, including Congressman Tim Bishop, Senator Ken LaValle, Assemblyman Fred Thiele, Jr., Assemblyman Edward Hennessey, County Legislator Kate Browning, Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine, Brookhaven Deputy Supervisor/Councilman Dan Panico and Mastic Beach Village Mayor Bill Biondi. I also want to thank the leaders of our workgroups, and all the community civic leaders and volunteers who have made all this progress possible,” concluded Senator Zeldin.
