"It is with deep sadness, that we pause to mourn, honor and remember the life of former New York State Senator Caesar Trunzo. He was a man who dedicated his life to public service and, in so doing, profoundly impacted the lives of so many New Yorkers. The Third Senatorial District was very well represented during Senator Trunzo's time in office. He fought hard for individuals, organizations and communities throughout his Senate District. Senator Trunzo also served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.
When I was elected in 2010, I was honored to have him share the stage with me on election night. I told him then, as I would continue to say now, that it has been my pledge to try my best to uphold the high standards of excellence and dedication that he brought to his position each and every day. Senator Trunzo will always be missed and always be remembered for all the great work he performed on behalf of his constituents and our state."
