Senator Mark Grisanti Announces Grants For Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries

grants through the "Bullet Aid" targeted education fund for libraries. Of the 28 Erie County libraries that will benefit from grants, Senator Gristanti's district includes the Crane Branch Library, the location of the media event as well as the Niagara, North Park and Riverside library branches in Buffalo, plus the Angola Public Library, Grand Island Memorial Public Library, Lake Shore Public Library, Orchard Park Public Library, City of Tonawanda Public Library, and the Kenmore and Kenilworth Branches of the Town of Tonawanda Public Library.
"This is wonderful news for library patrons," said Library System Director Mary Jean Jakubowski. "Libraries are truly a great investment because they provide everyone access to information. Thank you to Senator Grisanti along with Senators Patrick Gallivan and Michael Ranzenhofer for your efforts in supporting your hometown libraries which are truly the cornerstone of this great community."
"On behalf of my colleagues, I am pleased to report that a total of 369 libraries across New York received Bullet Aid funding including those in the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System. And, I am proud to say, I am a huge library supporter having used our local libraries since I was a young," said Senator Grisanti. "This funding recognizes the important roles that Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries play in our community: in assisting the unemployed in searching and applying for jobs online, by providing digital literacy and other employment preparation training, offering free Wi-Fi access and computer use, and by offering cultural, educational, and literacy programs and materials to children of all ages and their families," stated Senator Grisanti.
