BROOKLYN’S 7th ANNUAL SENIOR IDOL FINALISTS ANNOUNCED

Senator Golden, “…a night of laughter, of tears and true fun in our neighborhood…”

 

Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that ten finalists have been selected to compete in Brooklyn’s 7th Annual Senior Idol to be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Angels Auditorium, located at 347 74th Street. The show begins at 7:00PM. Auditions were held with over 30 contestants participating.

 

Senator Marty Golden stated, “This week we are hosting what is now a very popular Brooklyn tradition, Senior Idol. This year, we have another list of performers who have great talent and will be sure to entertain the crowd. If you are looking for a night of laughter, tears, and true fun right in our neighborhood, don’t miss the show.”

 

The finalists, who auditioned for the show in September, and the songs they will sing, are as follows:

 

Victoria Keller “Cabaret”

Louis Keith “Georgia On My Mind”

Stephanie Spathakis “Today I Met The Boy I’m Gonna Marry”

Wei Rong Chu “Our Country”

Sherry Kayser “You Belong To Me”

Andy Gandolfo “Peggy Sue”

Gagz Danzo “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head”

Nick Thomas “Can’t Buy Me Love”

Daniel Onzo “Being Alive”

Florence Irving “Don’t Cry Out Loud”

 

Larry Morrish will serve as the contest Master of Ceremonies, and a panel of judges, including Charles Otey, Joseph Loposky, and Karen Chalif will help choose Brooklyn’s 7th Senior Idol. The winner will be selected through the votes of the audience and the judges.

 

Tickets for the event are $10.00 and can only be purchased at the door, with all proceeds to benefit the Xaverian High School Music Scholarship Fund and to purchase new instruments to support the Xaverian High School music program.
