Senator Golden Announces State Insurance Response Unit Returning to Area to Aid Sandy Victims

Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) is announcing today that he has scheduled two visits of the New York State Department of Financial Services’ Insurance Response Unit to aid victims affected by Sandy in his district for next week.

 

On Monday, March 18th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., NYS Department of Financial Services Mobile Command Center will in Sheepshead Bay, on the corner of Sheepshead Bay Road and Emmons Avenue. The next day, Tuesday, March 19, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Mobile Command Center will be outside the Gerritsen Beach Public Library, located at 2808 Gerritsen Avenue in Brooklyn.

 

The staff will be available to assist homeowners and business owners with the following:

 

*City, state and federal relief programs and how to get help

*Questions about the insurance claims process in New York

*Seeking resolution on your claims with your insurer or bank

*Filing an official complaint against an insurer or bank

 

Senator Marty Golden stated, “As Brooklyn continues to recover and rebuild from the damage left behind from Sandy, I continue to stand alongside of every home and business owner who needs assistance, so to help them get back on their feet. Next week, I am glad to be welcoming the Department of Financial Services to my district again for two days, so that the help needed can be accessed.”

 

Anyone who can’t visit the Mobile Command Center in person can file complaints through the New York State Disaster Relief website, www.nyinsure.ny.gov or by calling the Disaster Relief Hotline, 1-800-339-1759, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
