Senator Golden to Host Christmas Tree Lightings to Bring Holiday Cheer to the Community

Brooklyn – State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn), who this week is delivering turkeys to local food pantries and senior centers in preparation for Thanksgiving, is today announcing his plans to host two Christmas tree lightings which promise to bring holiday cheer and excitement, with a special visit from Santa Claus and hot chocolate for all.
Senator Golden stated, “It has become a great tradition here in our community to join together to celebrate the holidays, and give thanks for all the good in our lives. I encourage neighbors, families and friends, to take part in this year’s Christmas tree lightings and help us usher in this most magical time of the year. No matter what you like best – hot chocolate, candy canes or singing Christmas Carols – a great time awaits you.”
The events will be held on:
Tuesday, December 10th starting at 6:30 p.m.
Lady Moody Square, Van Sicklen Street and Avenue U
Wednesday, December 11th starting at 6:30 p.m.
McKinley Park, Bay Ridge Parkway and Fort Hamilton Parkway
Donations for Toys for Tots will be collected at the event, as well as cards and items to be mailed to the troops overseas for the holidays. The events are sponsored in conjunction with the South West Brooklyn Parks Task Force and the Dyker Heights Civic Association.
